Chinese Hospital and CCHP Health Plan are pillar organizations that have been serving
Bay Area’s Chinese community for nearly 125 years. We were founded in late-1800’s by
the community when Chinese residents did not have access to many vital services.
Our unwavering commitment to the original mission – caring for the community’s
healthcare needs – has taken-on new importance especially in light of the recent past.
As we forge ahead, Chinese Hospital and CCHP Health Plan as a healthcare system
has embarked on a new and exciting phase.
At the recently reconstructed Chinese Hospital, we were ready for the pandemic that
arose in 2020. The hospital mobilized into action by educating, testing, and vaccinating
the community. Our community health model helped San Francisco residents to lead
the nation in COVID infection and vaccination rates. Lauded by local, state and national
healthcare leaders this model is now being implemented across the country.
Chinese Hospital continues to extend its excellence with outpatient care offerings in
collaboration with UCSF, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, and SF
Department of Public Health.
Working in tandem with the hospital was CCHP, the health plan arm of the healthcare
system, positively impacting beyond the immediate community. With health plans
covering thousands of members around the Bay Area, we championed education,
information and eliminated barriers for our members to receive testing and vaccinations
at no cost.
CCHP offers two distinct personalized solutions for anyone looking for quality,
affordable health coverage – CCHP for Medicare Advantage plans and Balance by
CCHP for families, individuals, and employer groups, seeking a different kind of health
plan that helps find their pathway to health and wellness.
As we leap into New Year of the Rabbit, we are thankful for the health and happiness of
