In Chinese culture, the rabbit is the luckiest animal. This rabbit is gold representing wealth and prosperity and features a circular pattern on its front symbolizing fortune in the form of traditional Chinese coins and water as 2023 is the year of the water rabbit. The butterflies and flowers represent renewal and beauty in the new year. Chinese happiness wishes 錢兔似錦 and 新年快樂 adorn the flowers as leaves that bring good health and growth. 新年快樂 means “Happy New Year.” A popular blessing is 前途似錦 which means “hope your future is as bright as silk.”  The characters for future, 前途, sound similar to 錢兔, money rabbit.  錢兔似錦 means “the money rabbit is wishing you a prosperous future.” On the sides of the rabbit are 錢 (money) and 樂 (joy). The symbol on the tail represents a blessing for longevity.
